Recent physician activities:

Dr. John L. Butsch:

  • Recently spoke on “Surgical Treatment of Morbid Obesity” at La Porte Hospital in LaPorte, Indiana.
  • He has also completed a paper on “Prognostic Factors for Esophageal Cancer” which is soon to be published in Minerva Chirugica medical journal.
  • He is currently conducting a case study to report on survival data after radiofrequency ablation in liver cancer.
  • Dr. Butsch is also a major contributor of the medical information that appears on this website.

Dr. Keith Millikan:

  • Dr. Millikan has recently given the following presentations and published the following:
  • ”The Millikan-Modified Technique for Mesh Plug Hernia Repair” presented at the Western Surgical Meeting in Vancouver in November 2002 is due to be published in Archives of Surgery´ in June 2003.
  • “Incisional Ventral Hernia Repair With Mesh” was presented at the Midwest Surgical Meeting at Machinaw, Michigan in August 2002, and is due to be published in American Surgeon in March or April 2003.
  • Now at Medical Bookshops is the most recent book written by Dr. Millikan along with Theodore Saclarides, M.D. and Constantine Godellas, M.D.: SURGICAL ONCOLOGY: AN ALGORITHMIC APPROACH, published by Springer-Verlag.
  • In December 2002 Dr. Millikan was invited to have Grand Rounds at UCLA Medical Center, the topic being “Inguinal Hernia Repair”.
  • Dr. Millikan has been invited to tour Japan in March of this year to give multiple lectures on hernia repairs.

Dr. Theodore J. Saclarides:

Dr. Saclarides has published a new medical book, SURGICAL ONCOLOGY: AN ALGORITHMIC APPROACH along with co-authors Keith W. Millikan, M.D. and Constantine Godellas, M.D. This book has been published by Springer-Verlag and is currently at bookstores.
