Dr.
Daniel J. Deziel is presently a Senior
Attending Surgeon at Rush Presbyterian
St. Luke's Medical Center and Professor
of Surgery at Rush Medical College.
He is a member of 17 medical and surgical
societies and has held important positions
in many of them. Currently he is a Vice
President and a member of the Board
of Directors of the Society of American
Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons
(SAGES - a group of over 4000 surgeons).
Dr. Deziel is widely known for his
expertise in surgery of the gallbladder,
bile ducts, pancreas, and liver, and
in laparoscopic surgery. He has made
over 150 scientific and professional
presentations and has published over
100 papers and book chapters. He has
taught surgeons throughout the country
as well as internationally on numerous
topics and has received several awards
for excellence in training surgical
residents. He and his wife and six children
live in River Forest.
