Darius
S. Francescatti, M.D. is a graduate
of Loyola University Stritch School
of Medicine, with his residency completed
in General Surgery in 1976 at Loyola
University Medical Center and Hines
Veteran Administration. In 1996 he received
his J.D. from DePaul University College
of Law.
He is board certified in General Surgery
and, at present, is an attending physician
at Resurrection Hospital and Rush Presbyterian
St. Luke's Medical Center.
He is an Assistant Professor at Rush
Medical College. Prior to joining University
Surgeons in the autumn of 1998, Dr.
Francescatti enjoyed a busy general
surgery practice as well as devoting
a good share of his time as both Chairman
of General Surgery and Administrative
head of the Division of General Surgery
at Resurrection Hospital.
With University Surgeons, Dr. Francescatti
is specializing in the care of the breast.
In addition ot performing a variety
of breast related surgeries, he has
a special interest in advanced diagnostic
techniques such as ultrasound guided
breast biopsies and ductal ecography-both
done here in the office. He also performs
stereotactic breast biopsies both at
Rush and at Resurrection.
He is a member of numerous societies
including, the American College of Breast
Surgeons, SAGES, the Midwest Surgical
Society, and is a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons. He resides in suburban
Chicago with his wife and six children.
