Fecal Incontinence

Fecal incontinence affects millions of people yet few patients are willing to openly discuss their problem. Even fewer physicians are knowledgeable about the treatment of this social disabling disease.

At University Surgeons, we provide a complete physiological assessment of patient suffering from incontinence and tailor the treatment for each individual. Many patients can be treated successfully with diet, medications, and other conservative measures.

Surgery may be required for the severely affected patients and in this regard we are skilled and trained in sphincter reconstruction, implantation of the artificial anal sphincter and new, state of the art techniques.

The surgeons who specialize in the treatment of fecal incontinence are:

            Marc I. Brand, M.D.

           Theodore J. Saclarides, M.D.

If you would like to be evaluated for a fecal incontinence problem we will be happy to see you.  Call us at 312-942-6500 to make an appointment.
